Hepatitis: Symptoms, causes, and cure.

Hepatitis occurs when the liver has become reddened and swollen (which is usually painful) as a sign of its reaction to an injury or infection.

It can also be said to mean the inflammation of the liver.
The Virus causing hepatitis is referred to as the Hepatitis virus. It has been categorized into types based on their effects on the body.

We have hepatitis A.B.C.D and E. The virus causing hepatitis replicates itself causing the liver not to function properly.

Here are some of the functions of the liver:
The liver helps to replace harmful chemicals with harmless ones thereby purifying the blood.
Therefore, harmful chemicals are broken down into smaller substances and eliminated out of the body through urine and stool.

It stores excess sugar, vitamins, and fats until they are needed by the body.

Types of Hepatitis
  1. Hepatitis A: This arises when food or water contaminated by the virus is consumed. It caused hepatitis A virus (HAV). It is short-lived because it goes away quickly.
  2. Hepatitis B: This arises when an uninfected person has contact with fluids of an infected person. These fluids could be blood, water, semen, vagina secretion. The hepatitis B virus (HBV) is the major cause.
  3. Hepatitis C: Just like hepatitis B, it occurs when there is direct contact with fluids of an infected person. It is caused by the hepatitis C virus.
  4. Hepatitis D: This usually rare. It occurs when there is direct contact with the blood of an infected person. It does not replicate itself except for the presence of hepatitis B.
  5. Hepatitis E: This is very uncommon. It results from consuming water contaminated with fecal matter.
There are other sources of Hepatitis but they are usually non-infectious as the ones listed above.
The ailment could also result from any of these:
  • Excessive consumption of alcohol.
  • Overdose the use of drugs.
  • Exposure to poison
  • Where the immune system mistakes the liver as an enemy to the body and begins to attack it.
Symptoms of Hepatitis
This includes any or some of the following;
  • Loss of appetite
  • Dark urine
  • The skin and scleroses (white part of the eye) become whitish.
  • Discomfort on the upper side beneath your lower ribs.
  • Unusual weight loss
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Itching
Causes of Hepatitis.
  • Having a sexual affair with an infected person
  • Making use of infected objects such as knives, blades, needles, etc
  • Transfusion of infected blood.
  • Sharing the clothing of an infected person.
  • During birth i.e. from infected mother to her child.
  • During breastfeeding
  • Consumption of food or drinks infected by the virus.
  • Exposure to poison.
  • Overdose the use of drugs.
  • Excessive consumption of alcohol.
  • The mistake caused by the immune system in fighting the liver.
Every victim of Hepatitis desires to get well; there are therefore different approaches to achieve it.

Natural approaches to eradicating Hepatitis
  • A massage of the muscles and soft tissues can help to relieve stress caused by the virus.
  • Zinc: Hepatitis C prevents the liver and immune system from functioning well, therefore, the need for zinc. It helps to boost the immune system thereby making it function properly again.
  • Zinc can be found in foods like milk, beans, beans, crab, etc. Studies showed that persons that consume zinc for over 6years, escape being victims of the ailment.
Vitamin D: Victims of the disease tend to run short of vitamin D. Where there is a shortage in vitamin D, improving it will be of great necessity.
Vitamin D can be gotten from the early morning Sunlight, therefore, a constant exposure to the sunlight can help to improve the vitamin D level in the body.

Note: where the victim does not experience a shortage in the level of vitamin D, there will be no need to try to improve it.
  • Yoga: Yoga is an ancient exercise that comprises of stretching, deep breathing. Therefore, It helps to relieve stress and manage pains.
  • Improved diet: Improving one's diet can help to manage the challenges arising from the disease. Good health helps to prevent the failure of the liver. It also helps to boost the immune system which will help to fight infections. Consume foods such as fruits, vegetables, eggs, chicken, fish, and whole grains. Most importantly, cut down on the consumption of salt.
  • Abstain from the consumption of alcohol.
  • Avoid overdose use of drugs. Overdose the use of drugs will not hasten the healing process it will cause more harm than good.
  • Taking a lot of rest.
Other cure to the disease.
  • The use of antiviral drugs helps to fight the virus and slow down its effect on the liver.
  • Taking of interferon injections.
  • Surgery: Where severe damage has been caused to the Liver, having a Liver transplant will be the best option.
  • During the surgery, the damaged liver is removed and replaced with a healthy one. A healthy Liver can be gotten from dead bodies or from living beings that choose to part away with a part of their Liver.

Conclusion

Finally, Hepatitis B and C are usually life-threatening. Most times they do not go away completely especially the B type, therefore, the victim will have to live on medication to live longer.
